The Red Shed — Great club and music venue in Wakefield. ‘Acoustic Cabaret’ on the 2nd Saturday of the month and the highly entertaining ‘Open Mike’ on the last Saturday of the month.

The Fleece Inn — Owned by the National Trust, this is a wonderful inn in Bretforton, near Evesham, where Rhubarb Tarts spent a weekend of dance. Friendly landlord (himself a Morris dancer!), real ale (and excellent cider), good food. Folk night every Thursday from 8.45 (but as with any folk night, best to check what’s happening in advance!)
